Boot Camp

All Clubs except the Standard and Armor Bearers have a game time called Boot Camp after the Challenge time. The purpose of Boot Camp is based on two principles:

  1. The more ways a child experiences a concept, the better and longer he will remember it.

  2. Physical things represent and illustrate spiritual truths.

Like many of the activities during FrontLine Clubs, the games during Boot Camp seek to illustrate in a visual or physical way, the spiritual truth taught that evening. We have endeavored to encapsulate each lesson's concept into one memorable activity. It is not necessarily always a competition. The game is designed to bring the truth of the lesson to mind later when the clubbers are at home. Illustrating the truth of the weekly theme is the primary focus of Boot Camp; including the application.

Boot Camp is as much a part of the Club structure as the Challenge or De-Briefing. A well-organized, well-executed game will allow everyone to leave with the evening's concept once again clearly imprinted in his mind and heart. It also allows clubbers to leave on a positive, exciting note.

There are often materials that you must supply for the games, such as ping pong balls, beanbags, or packing peanuts. If you cannot find the exact suggested materials, you may determine the purpose for choosing that item and come up with a reasonable substitute. Remember, part of the Boot Camp goals is to reinforce and apply the nightly theme.

All games are designed to be played in the rooms where the clubs meet. No large game area is necessary. Games may be adjusted to accomodate facility limitations and options.
