The Foundation

FrontLine Clubs, born from a vision Pastor Vaughn had for the people and families of Faith Baptist Church, translates the principles and doctrines Pastor has been preaching from the pulpit into the daily lives of the children.

In developing FrontLine Clubs, we utilized a scriptural framework for organization that our church uses in nearly every aspect of the ministry.

2 Timothy 2:1-4 outlines the priorities and processes by which our entire ministry operates.

In the power of Jesus Christ, we teach principles to faithful people, who use programs and property to carry out the work with propriety and patience.

"Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also. Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier."

Two other passages guided the development of the FrontLine curriculum, even if they do not stand out noticeably in the final product. Matthew 5, known as the Beatitudes, gives a multistep process of Christian growth and maturity. In Genesis 3, Adam hid, then blamed the woman, illustrating the 4 principles of transparency and accountability that are the answer to these habits of the human heart.

These passages that are foundational to our church ministry not only form the framework of FrontLine Club's two-year program, but are woven throughout it.

The scope and sequence for each year of the club program loosely follows the order of systematic theology. We have taken great pains to over every portion of theology that is within the grasp of a child to understand. The club year begins with several weeks focusing on the character of God, followed by two weeks of salvation lessons. After that comes a series of lessons detailing man's responsibility toward God (Christian growth, character development). The lessons in the last portion of the club year concentrate on Christian service and cover the doctrines of the church and missions.

 

The Goal

The ultimate goal of FrontLine Clubs is to disciple families and help them disciple their children. This is accomplished through exciting club meetings, Bible memory, daily Journal activities, the Family Guide (a devotional aid for families), and motivational awards.

 

The FrontLine Difference

So how are FrontLine Clubs different from other children's programs? Here are a few key features.

1. Curriculum progresses according to a specific scope and sequence.

2. All age groups work on the same Bible truth and memory passage each week, using a variety of Bible accounts and educational activities.

3. Meetings provide discipleship opportunities for officers (leaders) by requiring participation in teaching and leadership.

4. Curriculum strives to be a discipleship program for children (rather than evangelistic), in the framework of systematic theology.

5. All elements of the club meeting (including game and craft) teach or illustrate the Bible truth being taught each week.

6. Program includes a family devotional guide that teaches the weekly theme. (Participation using the Family Guide is not required for clubbers to earn awards.)
